  • The digital transformation in organisations: how to navigate between resistance to change and burn-out

There is no escaping the digital transformation in a world that has changed, where the behaviour of customers, employees and competitors has also changed. However, it is important to not overlook the fact that this is a major upheaval, which means it is necessary to support employees if this evolution is to be a true digital revolution. This will lead to new accepted ways of working, which are understood by employees who have grasped the purpose and values of their organisation.

  • Understanding specific challenges in the New Way of Working: working from home, internal social networks, codes of conduct, privacy issues

The Internet, artificial intelligence, technological developments and social media have permanently transformed the way we work, both in the commercial sector and the public sector. For instance, the arrival of robots, new organigrams in response to internal and external networks, new objectives for people who now work remotely, the need for permanent connection, working from home, ‘Bring Your Own Device’, whereby employees want to work with their own connected tools, the conflict between privacy and data security, working with the outside world and crowdsourcing. These different phenomena are revolutionising management, human resources and IT departments alike, who are losing control of their tools.

How can we address these evolutions? How can we implement them harmoniously? How can we objectively analyse the advantages and disadvantages?

  • Medicine: responsibility, ethics and safety

Doctors have seen great changes in their role since the beginning of the 21st century. Today, the data they consult is increasingly digital and new diagnostic tools allow them to obtain images of exceptional quality, which can be shared, commented on and distributed online, so other practitioners can also access them. However, these technological advances have a downside: the medical sector's lack of awareness when it comes to its responsibilities concerning the protection of personal data, computer security, data storage and archiving, and the integrity and reliability of the stored data. Jacques Folon has already raised these issues on numerous occasions in the talks he gives to the medical profession, particularly with regards to their ongoing training in ethics and economics.

  • The myth of Generation Y

The concept of the digital generation has been, and is still, the subject of much debate. These “young people”, who were born after the dawn of the Internet, are deemed to have perfect knowledge of new technologies. Some have even called for them to be treated differently in companies. Jacques Folon dispels this fantasy, with humour, many practical examples and the very latest scientific studies, and shows that this myth has mainly been a smokescreen to hide resistance to change since the arrival of Web 2.0 and social media. You will never see Generation Y in the same light after this lecture.
