Michael Schack
Who is Michael Schack?
With his degree in economics and marketing in his pocket, it was not initially Michael Schack's intention to become one of the best-known Belgian drummers ever internationally. But the breakthrough of the renowned Antwerp band Blue Blot pushed him onto the tour bus in early 1991. Not much later, he co-founded Groovemania, became successively a regular live drummer with Clouseau ('95-'97), Camden, Kate Ryan (2006-2012), Milk Inc/Regi Live (to date), Ozark Henry (2006-2011), Soulsister (2008-2011) and played numerous singles and CDs of famous artists and Benelux TV series. In 2001, he also breaks through internationally as a solo drummer thanks to the trust of Roland Corporation Japan, which flies him around the world to the biggest drum festivals and international music events as a V-Drums product artist. When the young Belgian producer Netsky asks him in mid-2011 to help shape Netsky Live productionally, Michael's international impact becomes complete not much later: Netsky Live's numerous headlining slots in concert halls and at festivals throughout Europe, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia/New Zealand and Asia confirm his status as a pioneer of a brand new generation of drummers who merge technology and spectacularly played live musicality.
Meanwhile, in Flanders and in between international gigs, he foams with his very successful educational "Rechtop!" school show the Cultural Centres and, since 2017, he has been expanding his solo career with his unique solo #DJDrummer shows, from the Benelux to Mexico, Colombia, Turkey, Asia and South Africa.Schack plays his drum kit upright during his live shows like a true "one man band drummer/producer", knocking together an interactive, multi-genre live set that allows him to connect with a very diverse audience. Thanks in part to his long-standing embrace of social media and as an affiliate contributor and tuition coach on North American drumeo.com, his name continues to pop up at the very top of international musician popularity polls even during the Covid years. He is appreciated worldwide as a connecting, unique #DJDrummer who, all solo with his beats and unique mashups, can bring today's musical youth culture to the older generations of music lovers and make them dance to it as well. Also as a music producer, he tries to encourage young talents in this with his FATKiCK label.
By listening to Michael Schack's #GenerationRemix (with our ears and eyes!), feeling his beats, (re-)connecting with ourselves so that we could connect with others. It was magical to experience the energy between all of us, regardless of generation, gender, talents, function, culture, beliefs, ... we really connected and inspired each other to create our own HR-Remix that allows us all to reconnect & connect. That's growth!

Never seen anyone turn a keynote into a mash up party before! It was great. More mash up in the workplace, be surprised by the differences and seek connection. Or how music can teach us something around inclusion.

Wow - wow - wow! No idea what to expect yesterday at the 4th edition of Bar HR x Café FD. But afterwards, those were the 3 words that came to mind. Michael Schack - one of the most famous drummers in the world (Clouseau, Regi, Netsky, ...) - brought his performance "Generation Remix". From his own musical world, he links to the corporate world. His key message: respect and inclusion. You don't have to like all genres of music and colleagues, but you should respect them. Different genres - from classical to drum-n-bass - influence each other and create new music styles and great songs. Also in the workplace, a mix - or should we say mashup - of generations, inclusion and diversity definitely create innovation and economic and societal added value. A beautiful message brought in a dynamic musical concept, where it is impossible to stay in your seat. * Not least because of the brilliant choice of music with sometimes daring but always successful mashups and Michael Schack's impressive drumming.
