Jeroen Poels
Who is Jeroen Poels?
The one thing Jeroen Poels learned at school was that learning (or studying) in the conventional way did not really capture his interest ... At age 16 he dropped out, but still managed to finish high school (in Belgian terms: ASO / Economie & Talen) by studying at home. Eager to get his career in business off to a flying start, he promptly began studying SME management at Charlemagne University of Applied Sciences. After two years, however, he simply had to succumb to the temptation to work for himself. Professionally, he certainly didn't drop out, but he did start at the very bottom: he was basically the ambitious 15-year-old dishwasher at the local banquet hall, trying to work his way up to the position of head waiter. In which he succeeded so well that at that point he was also leading virtually the entire staff. At the age of 18, he finally seized his opportunity and started his own company: DELTAWORX. The reason? Not only in light of personal development and growth, but also because he saw the opportunity to help students (his friends and peers at the time) get jobs so they could gain (relevant) work experience; which is still one of the company's main goals today. A year later, he became the youngest person ever to lead an officially certified staffing agency. He also had the honor of being nominated as Belgium's youngest CEO. Jeroen Poels is also one of the young wolves from VTM2's TV program of the same name. And together with his co-host has his own talk show on Kanaal Z called Goe Bezig! He also received a listing within the prestigious Forbes 30under30 in 2021. Meanwhile, Deltaworx employs more than 4,000 students annually and has a network of more than +50k Young Professionals.
