Who is Jürgen Ingels?

Jürgen is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He made his major breakthrough with Clear2Pay, a pioneering FinTech company that he expanded into 14 countries, employing 1,200 people. He sold the company to an American firm in 2014. He is currently a managing partner at Smartfin, a fund that invests in promising European technology companies. Jürgen is also the brains behind Supernova, a large technology festival that is organised in Antwerp every 2 years. In 2018, the first edition managed to attract 40,000 visitors. You may know Jürgen from a TV programme called De Leeuwenkuil. In 2018, five top investors went in search of brilliant ideas, innovative spirit and manic ambition among young entrepreneurs.

Jürgen is a passionate entrepreneur, a jack-of-all-trades who has helped to establish both domestic and international start-ups and scale-ups.
Jürgen has founded and/or helped to develop various companies during his career. He is also a member of the board of countless renowned companies. These are technology companies as well as companies from other sectors, including Willemen, Ghelamco, WDP and Mensura. A good example of what is important to Jürgen as entrepreneur: working in parallel, so that your knowledge keeps getting wider.
