Dominique Baeyens

Who is Dominique Baeyens?
Dominique Baeyens is one of the most successful volleyball coaches in Belgium, with a career spanning more than 30 years. He has won nine national titles, three cups and one European Cup with Knack Roeselare. As national coach of the Belgian national team, he led the team at the highest level for four years. He was voted Coach of the Year eight times in recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities.
In addition to his impressive achievements in the world of sport, Dominique is also a seasoned keynote speaker with 15 years of experience. He translates his insights from elite sport into concrete, actionable lessons for businesses and organisations. His keynote, 10 Steps to Better Teamwork, offers no cookie-cutter theories but a pragmatic view of leadership, collaboration and building strong teams.
In his book Coaching with Common Sense (Manteau, 2018), he shares his philosophy on coaching: successful teamwork does not happen by itself. It requires clear agreements, strong individuals and a leader who inspires and motivates. According to Dominique, the terms team and teamwork are often taken too lightly. A well-functioning team does not just happen, it requires discipline, commitment and thoughtful leadership. There is no silver bullet, but Dominique's years of experience in team dynamics and coaching have given him a clear understanding of how the principles of elite sport can be applied in a business context.
I never bring a standard story! I always contact the client beforehand to tailor the content to their needs and ambitions. Expect no dry theory, but inspiring anecdotes, practical examples and valuable insights to help teams grow and perform at their best.
