Ann Maes
Who is Ann Maes?
A new generation of ‘winners’ is taking over the arena. They are companies, entrepreneurs and organisations that are able to seemingly attract talent, attention and resources with ease. People who look at them from a traditional perspective will find it difficult to categorise them. They cannot be classed as ‘profit’ because they focus on society. But they cannot be classed as ‘non-profit’ either because profit actually plays an important role. These new winners practice entrepreneurship that aims to help reinforce society. They combine ‘better for me + better for the world’ and play a unique game: The Positive Sum Game. The arrival of these new players has restructured the commercial arena into a continuum. A new world has thus developed between, and on the boundaries of, profit and non-profit.
Ann has established an international career by building and protecting the reputation of people, brands and organisations. As managing director and hands-on reputation strategist, she works for world renowned and very small brands - with passion, conviction and curiosity. She is motivated to use enterprise and organisation to build a more stable society. Her book, which is called The Positive Sum Game and was written together with her partner Herman Toch, shows how profit and purpose can interact positively to everyone's benefit.
