Who is Helen Goedgebeur?
Helen Goedgebeur has worked as a legal affairs journalist at VRT NWS since 2018, reporting for Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, MNM and StuBru on radio and Het Journaal on television. As a court reporter, she has covered many high-profile trials both at home and abroad.
She studied Law for five years at KU Leuven, subsequently obtaining an additional Master’s degree in Journalism at the VUB. She also completed a Specialist Teacher Training programme in Social Sciences and Philosophy alongside this. Immediately after completing her studies, she began working as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law at KU Leuven. Having worked for several years as a newsreader at the radio stations MNM and StuBru, she now combines her three passions: law, language, and presenting.
She is a wonderfully enthusiastic and cheerful speaker and presenter at general events and those with a legal focus. “As journalists, I believe our strength lies in our ability to present often technically complex topics or cases in a clear and accessible way to our viewers and listeners.”
