Helen Goedgebeur
Who is Helen Goedgebeur?
Helen Goedgebeur (b. 1991) has worked as a legal journalist at VRT NWS since 2018, and reports for both radio (Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, MNM, StuBru) and television (Het Journaal). She has reported on numerous high-profile court cases both at home and abroad in her capacity as court reporter.
Helen spent five years studying Law at the University of Leuven prior to obtaining a Master's Degree in Journalism at the VUB (Free University of Brussels). She coupled this with a specialisation in Teaching Social Sciences and Philosophy. She commenced work as a teaching assistant at KU Leuven’s Faculty of Law immediately following her studies. After several years working as a newsreader at radio stations MNM and StuBru, Helen now combines her three greatest passions: law, language and presentation.
Helen is an extremely enthusiastic and entertaining speaker and moderator at general or legal-orientated events. “I believe the job of a journalist is to communicate technically complex topics and cases to viewers and listeners in a clear and comprehensible way.’’
