Luc Haekens
Who is Luc Haekens?
Noblesse oblige... The nobility is a world of noblemen, castles and princess dresses, even today. Journalist Luc Haekens put on his boldest shoes and his most beautiful three-piece suit and went exploring. Luc has an impressive track record on radio and television. He combines a merciless curiosity with a charming idiosyncrasy, the best letter of nobility for captivating listening, watching and reading pleasure.
With the same restrained verve he can also give an event a surprising and always cheerful twist. In his keynotes, Luc imagines himself in the world of his blue friends, who talk about their ancestors, their upbringing, their castle, their life and work. But he also sympathizes with the consumer of daily news, online and on TV. What can he/she still believe about what comes to him or her on the TV or in the newspaper? A privileged witness tells.
Luc is now best known as a flying reporter for the satirical program De Ideale Wereld. His reports are often hilarious, not least because of the dry humor in his interview style. However, there is often a socially critical side to his pieces.
What is less known is that Luc has repeatedly won national and international awards for his reporting work in the past. High-profile examples included 'The Trial' about the Dutroux trial and 'The Jo Lernout case'.
The audience hung on Luc Haekens' every word. There was a power outage lasting almost an hour - which is quite inconvenient when your lecture is interspersed with video fragments - but even that problem could not deter him. Fascinating evening!
