Karen is an impact entrepreneur. With projects such as Startups.be, European Startup Network, BeCentral and BeCode, she has challenged the status quo in the field of technology entrepreneurship, digital skills development and the recruitment and development of diverse talent within an organisation. This put her among the top 50 "Most influential women in the European start-up and venture capital space" for five years (2016-2020); she was nominated "ICT woman of the year" (2019), was voted among the "Inspiring Fifty (2021) and as "Radical Innovator" (2022). She currently leads the Brussels AI Center for the Common Good and, together with her husband, is starting up a new organic farm where professionals with burnout issues can regain their balance. Karen is a sought-after speaker on topics such as corporate social responsibility, leadership, diversity & inclusion, talent acquisition and development, psychosocial well-being and impact financing.
