Bart Verhulst
Who is Bart Verhulst?
Bart Verhulst is a political journalist for VRT NWS. He is a Germanist who, after an additional year of journalism, began his career in 1999 at Radio 2 in Ghent and as a reporter for the East Flemish television channels AVS and Kanaal 3. In 2001, Verhulst switched to the public broadcaster's news service. He worked there as a general reporter and followed the German-speaking countries in the foreign affairs section. In 2007, Verhulst started working as a political journalist on the news programme Terzake. After the longest formation ever, he writes a booklet on the sixth state reform: ‘Di Rupo I, a new Belgium?’. In 2012 Verhulst returned to Het Journaal as a political expert. There he has since become a regular on the Wetstraat. He makes reports on politics for Het Journaal, does live reporting and is a much sought-after studio guest. Verhulst is also a commentator for Villa Politica, the parliamentary magazine of VRT NWS. Verhulst can also be heard in the podcast ‘Onder ons: politiek’ and in De Ochtend on Radio1.
