As a professor at UGent, he teaches the following courses at the Faculty of Economics: insurance management and personal financial planning. He is the author of several publications on taxation, social security, insurance, inheritance law, estate and succession planning. He also regularly gives seminars on these topics. He works for various professional organisations in the financial world and is consulted by banks, insurance companies, accountancy firms, law firms, colleges, universities and the notarial profession. As an expert, he appears frequently in the media. He regularly writes for De Tijd, Netto, Trends, Moneytalk, Knack, L' Echo, Life & Benefits, Bericht aan het notariaat, Het Nieuwsblad, HLN, Vitaya Magazine, Libelle, Feeling... He also contributes to programmes on Eén (For the same money, Het Journaal), Radio 2 (De Inspecteur), DPG Media and Kanaal Z.
