Ben Sansen

Who is Ben Sansen?

Ben Sansen is a leading coach for entrepreneurs and a sought-after keynote speaker in the fields of personal growth, leadership and mindset. With 25 years’ experience as a coach and entrepreneur, he helps people and organisations get the most out of their lives and their businesses — in a no-nonsense way that really sticks. He is the voice behind the award-winning ‘Choose Life’ podcast, which has been downloaded over 300,000 times and won the Belgian Podcast Award, and is the author of the book of the same name. As well as his keynote talks, Ben organises ‘Into The Wild’ retreats in Swedish Lapland, where entrepreneurs join him to slow down, so they can subsequently make a greater impact on their lives, their businesses and society.

Ben believes that personal growth and business success go hand in hand. His mindset? Somewhere between Business and Buddha.

“Doing business with passion every day and living a life you’ll never regret – that’s my definition of success.”

  • Small Change, Big Impact

You have a good life, a great career and people who love you. And yet, something gnaws at you. A little voice whispers, 'Is this all there is?' Ben knows that feeling inside out, and in this keynote, he discusses it honestly and personally. All too often, we live on autopilot, doing what's expected, ticking off items on lists and hoping that a sense of purpose will come naturally. But it doesn't. Not by itself, anyway.

Ben takes you through the three building blocks of a meaningful life. First: daring to dream. This means daring to dream without immediately dismissing your ideas with reasons why they won't work. Second: putting the ladder against the right wall. Many people climb their whole lives with all their might, only to realise at the top that they’ve chosen the wrong wall. Finally, there's the power of the 1% rule: the small daily step that makes big dreams come true in the long run. This is because most people grossly overestimate what they can do in a single day and underestimate what they can achieve in a year.

This isn’t a vague story about happiness or a motivational speech you’ll have forgotten two days later. It's an honest reflection and a practical roadmap full of relatable stories, thought-provoking questions, and concrete exercises that you can start doing right away. All too often, people only realise at the end of their lives that they should have worked less and followed their heart more. If only I’d followed my heart more. If only I’d had the courage to choose what truly makes me happy.' Ben invites you to do something about it today. You’ll go home with a clear idea of what you want, why you want it and the first practical step towards achieving it.

  • Focus is the new IQ.

You work hard and are motivated. Your diary is full, and 'busy' is your middle name. But at the end of the day, you ask yourself, 'What have I actually achieved?' You feel tired but not fulfilled. Busy, but not productive. Ben knows this feeling all too well, and he also knows exactly why it happens. He also knows why most of the solutions you’ve already tried – the app, the timer, the quiet space – don’t really solve the problem.

In this keynote, he reveals the four concentration leaks that drain our brains every day. Spoiler alert: your phone isn’t the main culprit. So what is it? Ben explains this using the latest insights from neuroscience. He does so in a surprisingly relatable way, and sometimes in a slightly confrontational manner. He provides a detailed explanation of what happens in your head when you switch tasks, receive a notification or attend a meeting that could have been an email. Every time you lose focus, you pay a price that won't show up on your bill, but which your body and mind will certainly feel.

However, Ben doesn't just analyse this. He provides concrete, actionable strategies to help you protect your focused time, get into the flow more quickly and resume your work more easily after an interruption. These are not theoretical models to file away at home, but practical insights that you can put into practice as early as the next morning. If you implement these strategies, you will consistently achieve more in less time, feel less tired at the end of the day and still have energy in the evening for the people and things that matter most. Being busy and being productive are two very different things, after all. Being exhausted and being successful don't have to go hand in hand.

  • Peace of mind

Your mind never stops. Your to-do list, unread emails and other people’s expectations follow you everywhere, even when you finally collapse onto the sofa in the evening. You know you need to slow down, but it feels like you're falling behind. So you carry on. And on. Until one morning, you wake up and realise that you haven’t really been present for weeks. Not at work, not at home and not with yourself.

Peace of mind isn't about going on holiday often enough or hoping you'll recover by the weekend. Peace of mind is a skill. It's something you can learn and practise.

In this keynote, Ben shares his most powerful insights on how to calm your mind, recognise and interrupt worrying thoughts, and make better decisions from a place of inner calm. This will benefit you, your team and those around you. He explains the connection between heart coherence, breathing, and mental clarity in a way that is both scientifically sound and accessible. There's no woolly nonsense here, just measurable results. The keynote's highlight is a live biofeedback demonstration that literally shows the effects of calm on your body and how quickly you can achieve that state yourself, even when the world around you is spinning.

Peace of mind is not a luxury reserved for those with too much free time. It is the most underrated skill of every leader, entrepreneur and person who makes daily decisions under pressure. Those who learn to respond from a place of calm rather than stress are playing a different game — and winning more often. Best of all, calmness is contagious. Those who radiate it have an impact on their entire environment. The team starts working more calmly. On the family that welcomes a different father or mother home. They impact the customers who sense a different energy. One calm mind can set an entire organisation in motion.
