Julie Brown
Who is Julie Brown?
She is a polar explorer, entrepreneur, author and leadership and resilience speaker. As the co-founder and managing director of Polar Circles and its associated Polar Experience expedition activities, she has combined adventure with entrepreneurship, communication, and human insight for over twenty-five years.
What began as a six-week initiation into the Antarctic wilderness under the guidance of her husband, expedition leader Dixie Dansercoer, evolved into a lifelong mission to help people unlock their full potential. She has participated in numerous international expeditions, including the Bering Strait Odyssey (2005), In the Wake of the Belgica (2007–2008), Antarctic ICE (2011–2012) and Greenland ICE (2014). She has also led expedition cruises in Antarctica, Greenland, Spitsbergen and Norway.
Julie now translates her unique experience into the business and education worlds through keynotes and interactive workshops on leadership, collaboration, agility and resilience. Using compelling stories from the polar regions, she demonstrates how extreme conditions can offer valuable lessons about leadership, teamwork and perseverance.
In her new book, Discover Your Pivot, she shares practical strategies for dealing with change and discovering new opportunities, both professionally and personally. At the same time, she continues Dixie Dansercoer's life's work, inspired by his legacy.
Her ultimate goal: ‘To use the expedition as a metaphor to un-tap human potential.’
