Thomas De Graeve (1983) has worked at the VRT NWS news channel since 2007. He started at the regional editorial office of Radio 2 in Ghent. And then joined the Terzake TV current affairs programme. He also presented the De Ochtend morning programme on Radio 1 and worked for the Pano current affairs magazine. He now mainly works as a journalist for the international editorial office of VRT NWS, where he contributes to Het Journaal, Terzake and vrtnws.be.
In all those jobs, the core of what he does has remained the same. Explaining current events and trends in a clear, creative and engaging way.
Thomas has a particular interest in the United States. From an early age, he was fascinated by the history of the country, nature and culture. He has been following the country in a professional capacity for VRT NWS since 2016. He has visited the United States dozens of times and talked to hundreds of people from all over the country.
