Filip Meert

Who is Filip Meert?
After blatant mistakes by the police force and courts, Filip spent four years in prison as an innocent man. He later worked with investigative journalist Wim Van den Eynde to pen this mind-blowing story in his book, De bloedkamer (the blood chamber). During this lecture, the speaker explains how he ended up in this nightmare and how the incompetence of several government officials ruined his life. His tale is about randomness and negligence, and the powerlessness that normal citizens feel when they find themselves in such situations. Nonetheless, his story is one of great hope. Thanks to his amazing inner strength, he has recovered as a person and wants to share his experience with the audience.
The evening was truly fantastic. During Filip's lecture, you could hear a pin drop at certain moments. It’s something that will keep us talking for a very long time.

The audience hung on his every word and listened in complete silence. A fascinating story, which was well presented.
