Luc Haekens

Who is Luc Haekens?
Noblesse oblige... Even today, the aristocracy is a world of noblemen, mansions and ball gowns. Journalist Luc Haekens donned his best three-piece suit to go and take a closer look. Luc has an impressive track record in radio and television. He combines a merciless curiosity with a charming obstinacy, the ideal letter of introduction to captivating listening, viewing and reading pleasure.
He deploys the same reserved flair to add a surprising and always joyous touch to every event. During his keynotes, Luc examines the world from the perspective of his elite friends, who talk about their ancestors, upbringing and castles, as well as their life and work. But he also steps into the shoes of consumers of daily news, both online and on TV. How much can they still believe of everything they see on television or read in the newspapers? Luc is perfectly placed to explain.
These days, Luc is mainly known as roving reporter for the satirical programme De Ideale Wereld. His reports are often hilarious, mainly because of the dry humour used in his interviews. However, his reports often also contain an undertone of social criticism.
What is less known, is that Luc has received national and international awards for his reporting in the past. ‘Het Proces’ about the Dutroux trial and ‘De zaak Jo Lernout’ (the Jo Lernout case), for example, were much talked about.
The audience hung on Luc Haekens’ every word. There was a power cut of almost an hour - which is not ideal if your lecture contains video fragments - but this was not enough to knock him out of his stride. A fascinating evening!
