Who is Erika Van Tielen?

Erika was just 19 and still studying Communication Science at the Catholic University of Leuven when she was given the chance to join children’s channel Ketnet as a wrapper. Over 10 years later, she is a familiar face in the Flemish media landscape. For instance, she has been a presenter for VTM, travelled around the world for travel programme Vlaanderen Vakantieland and hosted various radio programmes for Qmusic and Studio Brussel. These days she is a fully fledged actor, in programmes such as Familie. She also features in commercials and writes about her life and parenting experiences on her blog, erikavantielen.be.

But presenting live on stage remains her biggest passion. Erika is always perfectly prepared and ensures a well-balanced mix between seriousness and spontaneity. “The better you know what you’re talking about, the better you can improvise; and that’s what I love. My ultimate goal is to make everything appear easy, so people think I am making things up as I go along.” <laughs>

The whole evening went very well and we were very pleased with how Erika Van Tielen managed the evening as presenter. It was a very pleasant experience, mainly because she was so open towards staff and friendly towards the company and management.
